Attorney-at-Law

Lawrence has been practicing law in the East Tennessee region for over 40 years focusing in the areas of real estate and banking transactional work. He has represented a number of banking institutions as well as many clients who have been with him for a number of years. He has served as the Delinquent Tax Attorney for the City of Johnson City, Town of Jonesborough, and Washington County, Tennessee for over 20 years. He is the Board attorney for Washington County Emergency Communications District and the Washington County/Johnson City Emergency Medical Services having served in those roles for over 20 years. Lawrence graduated from East Tennessee State University in 1979 with a degree in political science and biology. He then graduated from the University of Memphis School of Law in 1982. He is married to Chouree’ Blevins-Counts and attends Boones Creek Christian Church. Firm Administrator and Paralegal

Audrey began her career with the Firm in 2005. She is the Firm Administrator and Paralegal. Audrey manages the collection of delinquent property taxes for the City of Johnson City, Town of Jonesborough, and Washington County, Tennessee. She coordinates all litigation for Lawrence F. Counts, Attorney-at Law. Audrey has extensive experience in residential and commercial real estate matters, estate planning, business and corporate law and general sessions court civil matters. She also works with the Washington County Emergency Communications District and Washington County/Johnson City EMS. Audrey resides in the Sulphur Springs Community on her family farm with her husband, Eddie, and their two children, Madison and Wyatt. They are members of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. Outside of work, she greatly enjoys traveling, gardening, lake days, family beach vacations, and spending much time with her family and friends.

Senior Processor/Closer

Sam is the Firm’s Senior Processor and Closer. Sam is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and brings an excess of 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry. Sam contributes a considerable amount of knowledge and skills to the Firm. He currently serves as an active member of Southwestern Baptist Church, Tennessee Baptist Convention, Holston Baptist Association, and Gideons International. He previously served on committees for East Tennessee State University’s Bill Gatton School of Pharmacy, and the Washington County, Tennessee United Way. Sam resides in the Boones Creek community with his wife, Lesa, has two children and one grandchild. Sam’s hobbies include traveling, spending time with family, and a quiet evening at home.

Legal Assistant

Christian is the Firm’s Legal Assistant, where she assists with preparing deeds, contracts, and other legal documents. She also works alongside the office Paralegal with the preparation of delinquent tax sales and helps with a variety of other day-to-day matters. Christian is also a licensed Notary Public. Outside of the office, Christian’s favorite role is being a wife and mom. She enjoys spending her free time with her husband and their four children.

As one of the Firm’s Closing Processors, Erin helps ensure each transaction moves smoothly toward the closing table by coordinating the many details involved in the closing process. Her attention to detail and experience help ensure transactions are handled accurately, efficiently, and on time. A Southwest Virginia native with deep roots in the region, Erin brings a well-rounded perspective to her role through her experience in the real estate industry. She has been actively involved in the real estate community, having served on multiple Board of Directors at the local association level.  Erin enjoys building relationships with clients, real estate professionals, lenders, and others involved in the closing process and takes pride in helping make each transaction as seamless as possible.

Megan Hill

Pre-Closing Coordinator

Megan joined the Firm in 2021 and serves as our Pre-Closing Coordinator and Title Insurance Specialist. With a strong focus in organization, she works closely with agents and lenders to help ensure a seamless process. She also handles our title insurance policies and final title opinions after closing. She is a Notary and studied Business Management at Northeast State. Outside of her professional role, Megan enjoys traveling, shopping, and camping with her family. She resides in Johnson City with her husband, Aaron, and their three Corgis.

Receptionist

Sarah is the Firm’s Receptionist. Sarah is always so welcoming to our clients and the first smiling face you see. She is very outgoing, bright, and energetic. Sarah manages appointments, answers the telephone, provides pertinent information to clients, administrative tasks, as well as assists the legal department in various cases. She is a vital part of our day-to-day operation. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, thrifting, crocheting, and traveling.

Denice started with the firm in 2025. Being originally licensed in California and currently in Tennessee and Virginia, she brings over 10 years of Real Estate experience with her. Customer service has always been her niche, making sure clients feel informed and taken care of, earning their return in their future transactions. That sense of service not only pertains to the Real Estate world but was her driving factor in her past love of the preschool world. Having 2 young children at the time, Tri-Cities Christian Schools was her home of teaching for 9 years. Her daily enthusiasm and love for the kids had numerous parents requesting her return after a lengthy pregnancy leave. Now, in present time, she’s thankful for the long-term connections she’s made both personal and in business. In her free time, Denice assists her husband with Real Estate photography and their automower business, spends time with their dogs and grown children as often as possible and goes to the gym, also as often as possible.

Kim earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from King University. She has always enjoyed connecting with people and helping others, and she brings an outgoing and personable approach to her work. She enjoys building relationships, collaborating with others, and being part of a team. Outside of work, Kim’s greatest joy is being a mom to her two sons, ages 21 and 15. In her spare time, you can often find her cheering on her youngest at his football games, supporting her oldest in his college studies and career, or rooting for the University of Tennessee in all sports. She is also a proud dog mom to Scout and Rocky, who keep her company and always keep her on her toes. Kim is excited to bring her passion for helping others to her role with the Firm and looks forward to building relationships with her colleagues, clients, and the community.
